Madrid, October 7, 2005 - Telvent (NASDAQ: TLVT), the Global RealTime IT Company, participated in the seventh annual edition of "Metering Europe 2005", held in Barcelona, Spain, last September. The event, which had more than a thousand participants, is an exhibition of the leading-edge technologies in the energy sector, specifically the energy metering systems in the electricity, water, and gas fields, and is part of a series of global events held annually in Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.

Telvent exhibited its latest technology related with energy metering systems, which included the Telvent Metering System (TMS) solution. The TMS solution enables real-time remote acquisition of electricity consumption information, charges management, and data collection. In addition, the system enables real-time billing, charges control, and bill forecasting. At the same time, this technology includes meters based on the North American company Echelon's solutions, and Telvent-developed management software (Titanium).

The event was attended by Enrique Ramos, Telvent's Metering Solutions Manager and a member of this year's Conference Program committee, who chaired one of the sessions related with the latest metering system technologies for water, electricity, and gas transmission and distribution. In addition, Telvent's Research and Development Manager for Energy and Environment, Antonio Hidalgo, presented the distribution systems related conference paper entitled "Linking MV-LV for a full SCADA - Metering System".

The Metering Europe event brought together companies from all over the world that are vastly experienced in the sector, who presented the latest technologies and solutions applicable to metering systems. This forum - of enormous importance in the energy sector - continues to grow every year and is now a meeting point for experts from more than 50 countries that are interested in the sector's latest developments.
