Telvent
to participate at the Meteorex International Meteorological
Fair
Madrid, April 29, 2005 - Telvent (NASDAQ TLVT), the Global
RealTime IT Company, will participate in the "Meteorex" international
meteorology fair, which is hosted every two years by the World
Meteorology Organization (WMO). The event will take place
in Bucharest on May 4 and 5, 2005, and more than 50 companies
and organizations involved in meteorology will participate.
Telvent will be the sole Spanish company exhibiting its products
at this exhibition and conference.
Telvent will present its latest technological applications
for the meteorology sector, focusing in particular on those
solutions related to air, sea and land navigation, as well
as those applications that pertain to the environment and
agriculture, in addition to those solutions specialized in
the early detection of adverse meteorological phenomena and
the mitigation of their effects.
Telvent's booth will provide access to a wide range of information
relating to meteorological solutions and applications. One
such application will be the Airport Weather Observation System
(AWOS) - which provides continuous real-time information on
the meteorological parameters that affect aircraft landing
and takeoff operations. This system validates, processes and
stores data, and makes the information accessible to the meteorological
office, control tower, pilots and other users. Telvent will
also be presenting its new meteorological information tool
- Telvent Weather Information System (TWIS), which uses the
latest in remote sensing technology and weather forecasting
tools for collecting and interpreting meteorological information,
providing the customer with the capability of creating their
own end products. Also featured, will be Telvent's Weather
Decision Support System (WDSS) solution. WDSS is used to detect,
predict and forecast weather phenomena and hazards, and can
be adapted to the specific needs of customers, based on the
requirements of their industry, enabling the effectiveness
and versatility of the tool to be optimized for different
markets.
