Electric Utility migrates to the ArcFM™ 9.1 solution and initiates
mobile Designer project
Madrid, August 22, 2005 - Telvent
(Nasdaq TLVT), the Global RealTime IT Company, will implement
its GIS (Geographic Information System) technologic solution
- ArcFM 9.1 - for Ocala Electric Utility (OEU), a municipal
utility serving 50,000 customers in Marion County, FL, which
will replace the existing ArcFM 8.3.2 system. OEU is the first
Miner & Miner client to place the latest release of the ArcFM
9.1 solution into production. Ocala Electric Utility has been
a user of Miner & Miner technology since 2001 and decided
to upgrade to the most current version for enhanced support
of business requirements. By utilizing the updated system,
the utility will be able to better manage, integrate, and
maintain its data.
OEU has also chosen to implement
Designer for both desktop and mobile users to improve the
asset management and design process of its distribution assets.
Prior to this decision, the utility used a custom-built work
order system to facilitate the design process. The Designer
project kickoff occurred mid-June 2005 and rollout is scheduled
for December 2005. Ultimately, Designer will be deployed to
both engineers and design technicians in the field.
Rob Rotella, OEU Project Manager,
said, "Designer will increase the efficiency of operations
and give us a better system for tracking jobs. We are excited
about the ability to eliminate redundancy by utilizing a streamlined
solution. .
